Early in the development of STREET WARriorS, Mike and I decided we wanted it to be different.
We wanted it to appeal to video game players who may not have ever played a collectible card game
before and also to stand out and be visually different from other games currently on the market.
The clear choice was to do computer generated characters with that "Video game" feel. I think we've captured the essence
of each character and the groups they are affiliated with.
The other things we decided to do different were designed explicitly for the collectors. Each time we press up a batch of cards,
we are going to put the "Official" quantity of that particular holofoil card on the card itself. That way it helps to identify
the truely rare cards. Take the ALPHA set as an example. Each holofoil in that set will be extremely valuable later simply because
they are so few of them.
Another thing we're doing for the collectors is the Never To Be Printed Again (NTBPA) cards. Everytime we do a printing, there will
be two cards printed that will NEVER be printed again. In the ALPHA set there is EVE and the BFG, both are very special and powerful.
there are only 5,700
of each of these cards in existence.
The best way for collectors to insure getting copies of these NTBPA cards is to join the Official STREET WARriorS Fan Club for $25 a
year. They'll get the ALPHA and BETA cards (4 cards) for this year as well as access to special member only items
(Clothing, events, etc...)
The final thing we decided was value. We've included two holofoil cards per 30-card sets. There's the Boss cards
(limited to 900 copies of each boss in the ALPHA set) and one random holofoil character card (Which range from 300-600 copies of
a particular card!)
A lot of thought went into making the STREET WARriorS a game to remember!
